About Church

A Church of Healed Hearts

Our Church family not only welcomes people - it also teaches God’s truth, helps them understand His will for their lives, and leads them to discover the true meaning of life: to serve God and help others.

By God's grace, we enjoy a warm and loving family atmosphere in our community - a place of acceptance, care and peace. Here, we worship God together, pray, glorify Him in songs and learn from Him through the hearing of His Word. The Lord restores our hearts, fills us with the joy of salvation and teaches us to love others.

We are all different. Among us are children and adults, seniors and toddlers, new believers and those who have followed Christ for many years. But we are united by our love for God and our hearts are filled with respect and care for one another. We are ready to serve and offer help. We are ready to listen and to pray together. We are ready to be there in difficult moments - to share the burden of grief or loss. We understand what it means to go through hard times, because we’ve walked through many trials ourselves. But we know this for certain: the Lord Jesus is always near. He is ready to help, mighty to uphold, able to heal broken hearts and powerful to save the soul.

The History of Our Church

Our local church was founded during World War II, in 1942, when the German occupation authorities permitted believers to hold gatherings. The official founding date of the local church is April 11, 1945, when the Soviet government issued a registration certificate for the Kurenivska Baptist Church. During the Soviet era, the church had to change its meeting locations many times. Yet the congregation continued to grow, with new believers and ministers joining along the way. God faithfully blessed His people and led them on the path of sanctification.

In 2009, the Christmas Baptist Church was officially opened - a newly built House of Prayer on 10 Kobzarska Street, where the local church continued its life and ministry in the following years, proclaiming the Gospel to the world. After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, many believers were forced to leave the country. Between 2022 and 2025, the makeup of the church family and its ministers changed significantly. In August 2024, the local church took on a new name The Well Church - and stepped into a new chapter of life and ministry.

What We Believe

Our church is a community of Evangelical Christian Baptists, who confess the biblical teaching about the salvation of humanity through the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for the sins of people and rose on the third day to bring justification to mankind. The Greek word “baptizo” means baptism by full immersion in water. In accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ, our church practices believer’s baptism through full immersion.
